A Károlyi-kert Budapest belvárosának ékköve, amely a helyieknek egy zöld oázis a szűk, középkori utcákkal szabdalt történelmi városnegyedben, a 5. kerületben.
A történeti kert először a Károlyiak pesti paltojájához tartozó egzotikus növényeknek is otthont adó barokk típusú kertként működött. A grófi család kőfallal övezett magánkertje volt közel 100 éven át, amit csak 1932-ben választottak el a palota épületétől és nyitottak meg a köz számára.
A kert 2023 tavaszán újra egyesült a Károlyi-palota udvarával, ami jelenleg a Petőfi Irodalmi Múzeumnak ad otthont.
A Károlyi-kert állandó lakója Karcsi, a nyúl. Elődje Károly volt, akinek a tiszteletére egy nyúlszobrot is állítottak.
A helyszínen játszótér, pihenőpadok, nyilvános illemhely üzemel, emellett egy POKET könyvautomata, és egy könyvcsere-szekrény is.

The Károlyi Garden is the jewel of downtown Budapest, a green oasis for locals between the narrow, medieval streets of the historic 5th district.
The historic garden was first used as a baroque-style garden, home to exotic plants from the Károlyi’s Pest palace. For nearly 100 years it was the private garden of the count’s family, surrounded by a stone wall, which was only separated from the palace building and opened to the public in 1932.
In the spring of 2023, the garden was reunited with the courtyard of the Károlyi Palace, which is currently home to the Petőfi Literary Museum.
The permanent resident of the Károlyi Garden is Karcsi the rabbit. His predecessor was Károly, in whose honour a rabbit statue was erected.
There is a playground, benches, public toilets, a POKET book vending machine and a book exchange locker. In the Main Entrance of the garden, the charming Csendes café bar serves refreshments.
